Hey everyone, welcome to another edition of Homeroom Announcements, my Friday podcast type video where I give thoughts and updates about the Skooled Zone channel. My gaming videos are slowly attracting some attention. But no channel is just about subscribers, it's about building a community. Especially a community of like-minded individuals. In the case of the Skooled Zone, I want to build a community of smart people, or people that want to get smarter, enthusiastic gamers, or even non-gamers. Knowledge is power my friends and learning can be fun. If you're new to the channel, let me explain.

On this channel, not only do I give gaming tips, tricks, and very detailed walkthroughs, but I also give factoids during gameplay. When I run into something in the gaming environment where we can all learn from, I give some trivia about, either verbally or with a pop-up. There's so many educational opportunities in video games that often get passed over, which is totally understandable because we all love the thrill of the action. So with this channel, not only do you get that action, but I'll stop every once in a while and explain something that we encounter in the context of the game. For example, we may run across a game clue that makes an historical reference, or a note may use an uncommon vocabulary word, or maybe there's some technology that equates to something in the real world. You never know. That's where I can help.

But all of you can help too. Often due to time constraints or maybe because I just overlook an opportunity, I won't be able to cover everything in as much details as it may deserve. So I want to try and steer the comment section into a discussion platform where viewers can discuss, theorize, or even debate about some of the interesting topics and trivia that come up during an episode. That's why I have a special name for the comment section on the Skooled Zone. It's called the After Skooled Club!

So when you hear me mention the After Skooled Club, you'll know what I'm referring to—the comment section. I see the comment section on other channels, and it's so often flooded with spammers, trolls, misogynists, racists, bullies and just general jackasses. The After Skooled Club ain't gonna be like that my friends. At least I hope not. To the best of my ability, I'll try and curate the comment section into an intriguing conversation spot where everyone can learn from each other. It'll take some help from you too, though. Not just pushing the trolls back under the bridge, but joining in the good stuff.

And don't be afraid to add your two cents. I'm not perfect, and once in a while I'll miss some interesting things worth “skooling.” And with your help, we can make the After Skooled Club a place of fun discussion and extracurricular learning. I know that's probably a tall order with the way people love to razz each other in the comment sections on YouTube, but we'll see. Maybe this will be different. Volunteers to help foster higher discussion would be greatly appreciated. And when trolls see there's no oxygen for them because everyone's talking about much cooler stuff, then they'll find other channels to bother.

Anyway, I hope you like what I'm trying to do for you guys and agree with my hopes of making it a place where knowledge is king and no question is dumb, as long it leads us to a discussion that we can learn from. It'll be a place for everyone, no matter your level of education. And of course any talk about gaming strategies is always welcome as well.
