Homeroom Announcements 113

What's the Next Game?

Hey everyone, welcome to another edition of Homeroom Announcements, my Friday podcast type video where I give thoughts and updates about the Skooled Zone channel.

This'll be a short video today giving you an update about the next game series I'm going to do on the Skooled Zone. I had an interesting choice of several cool titles that I wanted to play for the next game. Some of my choices included Sniper Elite 3, Far Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto 5, Thief, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, etc. I finally settled on Sniper Elite 3 and I'll tell you why. First let me say that this'll be the last game I play on the 360 before I play exclusively next gen games. In fact, my first next gen series is only a few weeks away actually.

But let me tell you the reasons why I settled on Sniper Elite 3. There are so many cool games out there. I wish I could play them all and still give them the attention they deserve. I'm realizing very quickly with this YouTube channel that there simply aren't enough hours in a day. I think all gaming channels can relate to that, at least the ones that put out daily content. I'm actually a bit envious at this point of other channels that can put out content like once a week or even once a month and still watch their channel grow. One of my favorite prank channels, for example, hasn't put out a new video in almost two months and yet the subscriber count keeps on ticking upwards.

I'm definitely not complaining or anything because gaming is my passion. And educating through gaming is my specialty. It just takes slightly longer to do and do right. To make that time and effort worth it, the game has to be highly conducive to being skooled. What does that mean? Well, it basically means that the game can't be simple. I mainly showcase the more complex triple A titles. And the game needs to have an element steeped in history context or at least contain elements that are relatable to the real world to learn from. All of the games that were on my choice list have those elements. Notice I didn't have any Nintendo games on that list, for example. I certainly appreciate many Nintendo games but they're just not going to be a fit for this channel.

Sniper Elite 3 gives us the chance to travel back to World War 2, which is totally rich with real world historical elements, gadgets, concepts, etc. You're going to be quite amazed actually at how I go about skooling the game. It's going to be a blast. It's also a shorter game than Dishonored so I'll be able to wrap it up right around the time a whole crop of amazing next gen games come out in late October and early November.

So I'm looking forward to posting the first of these videos for you on Monday. You'll also see a cool new outro that I built as well as a pretty cool unboxing for next week's Homeroom Announcements. Just many many cool things on the forefront, so stay tuned! And on that note, have a good weekend and I'll see you on Monday with a brand new gaming series.
