The Skooled Zone's Class of 2015

Hey everyone, welcome to another edition of Homeroom Announcements, my Friday podcast type video where I give thoughts and updates about the Skooled Zone channel.

So the Skooled Zone recently passed the 1500 subscriber mark and I wanted to say thank you so much to all the people who have watched my videos and supported the channel over the last five months. It means a lot that you guys are helping to make this channel a YouTube reality. I really, really appreciate it.

There are a lot of amazing things I'm going to be doing with the channel in 2016. I can't wait to show you what I have in store. However, as we near the end of the year, I don't want to forget about the people who helped me get this far 2015.

Therefore, I'm starting a new initiative on the Skooled Zone that goes along with the whole video game school theme, ya know? I'm going to be celebrating all the people who subscribed to the Skooled Zone in 2015 with a special designation. Everyone who has subscribed already or who subs before the end of the year will be called the Class of 2015.

So, what does that mean other than being the upperclassmen to those who subscribe next year?

Well, I'm going to be doing a few important giveaways in the early months of 2016, especially around the Spring. These will only be open to the Class of 2015. And the same will go for the Class of 2016 when I do similar giveaways in 2017, which will be open to the Class of 2015 as well.

Some of examples of things I'll be giving away are multiple copies of games, some of my valuable recording equipment as I upgrade to new stuff, private Skype tutorials on graphic design, channel building if you have one, things like that. I'm also in talks with some brands that will offer me stuff to give away to you guys too. For those early contests, only the Class of '15 will be eligible.

So how will I know who is legitimately part of the Class of 2015 or not? Well, content creators on YouTube have a handy Subscriber page in the Community section of their channel. It lists all the people subscribed by how long they've been subscribed. And if someone unsubs and then resubs later, the count for them resets. So all I have to do is simply look at how long a contest winner has been subscribed for and if they're not part of the Class of 2015, then I can move on to the next contestant. Pretty easy, actually.

Now, is this a bit of a marketing push for my channel? Yes. Not gonna lie. YouTubers have to do many creative things to boost their presence on this ever-expanding platform. At least I'm honest about it though. But is it also a genuine and sincere way to thank those who have supported me in the early days of the channel as well? Absolutely. And that's the main goal. I'm one of those people who favor loyalty over fair-weathered friends, ya know? So this is definitely a way for me to give back to you guys and say thanks.

So if you're not already subscribed, do so before the end of the year to be a part of the Skooled Zone Class of 2015. I see in my analytics a lot of people coming to channel and watching videos every day but aren't subscribed, so now's your chance to be part of a movement that will storm YouTube in 2016.

And that's about it. Just a quick video letting you know about my end of the year incentive on the channel before going into the new year.

And on that note, have a good weekend and I'll see you guys next week with another awesome trivia walkthrough.
